Hi Everyone,
I am currently using open-E DSS for Data Storage.
However there is a issues with the access of the system. At time when we access a folder or a data in the folder which is on the DSS system. It takes a lot of time to access the folders on the system.
Does any one know why this happens, and is there any chance to know how may people are access the system at a given time.
Thank you all in advance
Can you provide some more details.
What version of DSS?
How much memory?
What is the file count - 100's, 1000's or higher?
NFS, CIFS/SMB...?
RAID controller and RAID set?
Did this just happen and was it working before?
How many users?
Are you using a Bond mode?

The Version : 1.30.DB00000000.2819
Momory : Nearly 5TB
File count: where can i find it?
SMB settings
This has been happening since a long time like 4-5months.
We have one user name. is it possible to know how many are using the system.
Bond mode? Sorry i am a bit new to this.
Thanks in advance
This is a very old version and I would really recommend updating this to 3278 or 3518. File count can be done by viewing the properties from the host side. I also would recommend saving your settings in the Maint. Misc. and take all options from the GUI.
Also I recommend running the file System repair utility from the extended tools from the Console the system will restart once completed but watch it to see if there are any errors - should only take a few min.

Is there any chance that I might loose the data while updating the system. do I need to make a backup or something like that. because the data which is on the disk is really necessary one.
how would saving my setting help me? and what do you mean by take all option from the GUI, and I am sorry I dint understand the last point as well.
I am sorry for these many question as I am a bit new to this.
Thanks in advance
Dont worry about your data the USB module has the operating system on it and the data resides on the controller. Before updating go the GUI in Main. > Misc. > and select SETUP
CONFIGURATION, Save locally and Download.
