Hi Todd,
THanks for that information, unfortunately remote snapshot control isn't really what I'm looking for.
With DPM 2010 and a VSS provider I can take simutanious snapshots of my individual...
Technet info on CSV cluster backups with hardware VSS Provider.
http://blogs.technet.com/b/asim_mitra/archive/2009/12/11/snapshot-provider-considerations-while-backing-up-a-csv-cluster.aspx
I would also like to see a VSS provider.
If you run the DSS as storage for a hyper-V cluster and want to take snapshots of the virtual machines running on the DSS your host machines must have the...
I'm on the latest version of DSSv6, I've just flashed the raid card firmware. So I'll post back my findings after the next reboot.
It's a production machine so might be a while...:(
Hello,
I've noticed that when ever I connect to megaraid storage manager with my pc to check on things like patrol reads and consistency checks, rebuilds etc. It causes an increase in load on the...
Hello,
I tried clicking "Check for updates" but got a message that the update file was corrupt. I'm now trying to upload the ISO to the SAN using the web GUI but it seems to just be stuck on...
Hello,
I'm looking to update to the latest version of DSSv6.
We're currently running 6.00 up14 b4221.
In the past I've just used the software update function on the web GUI but this doesn't...
Hello!
I'm having some problems with I/O performance on our hyper-v cluster.
We have 3 hosts each running 3 guests connected to our DSS v6.
Each host has a direct 1Gbps connection (crossover...
Hi jvandenbroek,
I have these spikes too, my graph looks almost identical to yours.
My RAID card is an LSI Megaraid. Doesn't seem to be causing me any issues though.
Did you get any further...
For me I'd like it for iSCSI Volume groups. At the moment my Clustered storage has to switch to redirected access for cluster backup. This means bakups take around 6-8hours and Virtual machine...
Hi Pfeifferl,
I'm not having any problems with BSOD or reboots of VMs, but as you suggested, I'm not using auto failover on the DSS.
It is something that I'm interested in but from what I've read...
Hello,
Just a quick question (fingers crossed).
I'm running my DSSv6 as an iSCSI CSV for a 3 node server 2008 R2 Cluster.
The DSS holds all of my VHD files for my hyper-v machines.
Should I...
Greetings,
I was wondering, does anyone know if there is a development road map for DSSv6? What exciting new features does the future hold and in what order will they arrive?
I think this would...
Thanks for the update.
Guess I'll just keep checking back for now :)
Many thanks,
Jonathon
Hi Todd,
Thanks for your response, I'm actually using DSSv6. Is development in the same position for that product?
I'm sure with last weeks release to manufacturing of Microsoft DPM 2010, which...
Any news on when this feature is coming?
Cheers,
Jon
It depends on your enviroment, if you're going to be using failover clustering on server 2008 you'd just need one LUN set up as a CSV.
Hello,
I'm running DSS v6 connected to a 3 node server 2008r2 cluster using iSCSI.
My DSS has a single lun which is used as a CSV to hold my VHD files for my virtual machines.
I've just put in...
Hi Symm,
Thanks for your help, I can't figure out how to enable replication though.
My logical volume - lv0000, doesn't have replication enabled and the only way I can see of enabling it would...
Hello,
We're currently running DSSv6 and have a 14TB iSCSI lun set up as a hyper-v CSV.
I'm considering getting in another DSSv6 to setup replication and failover and was hoping to get some...
a partition might be ok but to ensure your data is as safe as possible I would install it on a USB drive and just boot from that.
I'm using an internal usb port for the OS and the hard drives do...
hmm...
The way I'm set up is;
Use hardware raid bios util to set up my raid,
Boot and run open-e DSS v6 from a USB-DOM,
use web interface and goto, config->vol manager->vol groups
Select...
if you press Ctrl + Alt + N does it get you to network interface setup?
If you can then you could use the web interface to setup volume groups.

Hmm... I'd like to get that update as I'd love to be able to access the LSI logs
