Thread: Any ETA for NAS Failover?

Default Any ETA for NAS Failover?

I know iSCSI auto failover is pretty much ready. Any idea how long we'll be waiting for the NAS version? I realize it's maybe a bit more complicated, I have a home rolled drbd/Heartbeat 2 cluster on running on Debian. Thing is I'm the only one administrating it and I love the Open-E management interface, more of my techs can handle the storage systems. A lot of us are using NFS for VM as well as NAS file serving CIFS etc.

As of now we have no ETA for a NAS version,
We will know more in first part of Q1 of 09

NAS Auto Failover has been pushed further to a later date due to engineering tasks that has exceeded in to the 200+ requests - we will need more time before I can inform the best ETA.
We know that this is a high priority but also it is very complicated with all the other associated features with the NAS side (Snapshot, Auth., Backup, AntiVirus and all the protocols and more).
    All the best,

If i had 2 open-e servers can i replicate (in real time) from one server to the other and in case of one failing manually switch over until you have the NAS failover sorted, would this work?

    thanks

Try our current version of Open-E DSS V6 that contains the NFS Failover funtionality. You can also download the feature pack with NAS (NFS) Failover.
