    Default Driver incompatibility with Intel® 82574L Gigabit Ethernet Controllers

    Hello,
    I have just tried to install NAS-R3 software with one Supermicro M/B model X8DTL-i.
    This board uses Intel® 82574L Gigabit Ethernet Controllers.

    Issue
    ===
    NIC ports are not seen correctly from NAS-R3 software.
    From the local console you can see that they are recognized but it seems that their driver is not loaded correctly.
    There is no possibility to change or display standard IP addresses.
    Pressing C + A + N you can only apply DNS and routing settings.

    Here all details about hardware and software used for this test :

    NAS-R3
    =====
    Serial number = 99845753
    Capacity = 16TB
    software version = 2008-12-05 v5.00 up49 3294

    Hardware Info
    =========
    M/B SUPERMICRO model : X8DTL-i
    revision : 1.1
    Bios version = 1.0c

    I have already spoken with Supermicro support. They told me that this is a known issue
    between windows and Intel® 82574L Gigabit Ethernet Controllers .
    A special driver have been built for Microsoft O.S
    This issue is not present with Linux.

    Any idea?
    Any feedback?

    Thanks
    Marco
