Thread: Music from MB speaker.

  1. #1

    Question Music from MB speaker.

I use Open-E DSS V6up90 on my Supermicro system.
When I perform maintenance I heard music!
I find source - this been speaker on motherboard.
    I record short video.

At this time DSS was booted.
    What does that mean?

Do you have the latest firmware for the Supermicro? Is the RAID configured with the Array and is not lost? Memory Modules Errors can cause this as well. Try to remove the RAID controller to see if this beeps with out it. DSS does not cause motherboards to create sound errors.

At this time I was repairing RAID controller Adaptec.
I updated firmware too. Array was in degraded state.
But I turn off alarm in controller.
Before this I tested memory all night.
And I shure what sound came from MB speaker.
So I think is software send signal to me. But if this not OS (DSS) then I do not know what else could it be. RAID controller has own speaker.

On page A-2 from this link provides the Beep codes, see if any of these are related to your board. http://www.supermicro.com/manuals/mo...L/MNL-0630.pdf
