Thread: virtio hard disk?

  1. #1

    Default virtio hard disk?

I saw in the release notes for update 7.0up12.9101.10529 that there was a mention of Virtio so I thought I would try it out since I have been very eager for this feature.
When I boot it and go to Status->Hardware I see:

    Controllers Info
    • Network controllers
      • Red Hat, Inc Virtio network device
    • RAID/SCSI controllers
      • Red Hat, Inc Virtio block device

    Drivers Info
    • Network drivers
      • Virtio network driver
    • RAID/SCSI drivers
      • Virtio SCSI HBA driver

However, while the network adapters show up just fine I can not get it to recognize a virtio hard disk.
Is there a trick that I am missing?

    Thanks.

    from release notes:

KVM drivers for paravirtualized hardware (virtio-net, virtio-scsi)

You may want to open a support case so we can go into the server logs.

I am only testing in a trial version, can I still open a case on it?
