Thread: replication_mgr "partial transfer due to error"

Default replication_mgr "partial transfer due to error"

    Two identical DSS 6 systems here, version 6.0up98.8101.7337 64bit (updates u01384, u01236).

A daily replication task between the two systems keeps reporting errors like this (a couple of times a day, at predictable times):

Subject: Error(s) on gverc from Replication_mgr
    2014/08/07 18:30:22 Replication_mgr:Synchronization to 128.208.29.42 failed. Error 23 : Partial transfer due to error

I've scanned logs but I haven't been able locate any additional details about what's wrong. Can someone point me in the right direction?

check the rsync.log for information. It could be the snapshot is filling up.

Strange. On the source system 'gverc', the timestamp on rsync.log is 2014-07-29 16:18. I don't see anything logged since then.

On the destination system 'dunkel', the rsync.log is full of entries of this sort:

with IO errors, check connection(latency) as well as raid for issues.

Okay, but how/where/what to check exactly? And is the lack of recent entries in the source system rsync.log expected?

Check destination RAID for any issues. Also verify connection between units is stable.
If the destination fails to accept the data, nothing would be logged at the source.
