    Default ISCSI Active - Active

    Hi there
I am a little unsure of how exactly the Active Active is set up in open-e and would like a bit of clarification please.

Say we have an ISCSI volume let call in Volume A in a replicated setup on SAN1 and SAN2

Can The server this is mounted on read from both SAN1 and SAN2 at the same time ?

in A/A Failover the Destination volume will be in a Read only state but the data from Source server will R/W state and replicate the data to the Destination server.
    All the best,

Ok so is that a yes it will read from both nodes (double read performance), but write back to one and replicate to the other, as In was under the impression the volume is in active-passive mode

A/A or A/P on a volume that is set to source will be written to and not the destination, the destination volume can be read from via a snapshot that is assigned to it.

The answer is a bit vague, but reading between the lines the answer is no, which means it is an A/A only for failover purposes.
Unlike other competitors like starwind and datacore that you can read from both volumes but only write back to the primary that then syncs back to the secondary.
