Restore DSS backup to other DDS server. Is it Possible?

Hey there,

Is it possible to restore my DSS backup to another DSS server (using the built-in backup option)?
I've backupped a volume and the backup database volume to a dynamic volume (USB drive). Unmounted the drive and mounted it to other DSS Server. But because the other server doesn't have finished backup jobs, i can't initiate a restore from server A to server B and vice versa. Is this correct? Or am i overlooking something? This would be handy, just in case my DSS server breaks down...

You cannot backup from one DSS and then move the backup Data to another DSS.
You are correct server B would not have the backup database, so you will not be able to restore.

Do I read that right... no bare metal restore possible? :eek:

Please put that high up on the prio list, with "DSS Bacula agent configuration to use an existing Bacula server" as an alternative.
