I love the DSS v6, but there is just too many times the system needs to be rebooted. The product would be SO much better and enterprise ready if it did not need to be rebooted completely.
- Why do you have to reboot to install a license?
- Why do you have to reboot to resize an HW Raid-5 array?
- Why is a reboot nessesary to delete a logical volume?
YES, I would also appreciate to have less reboots for this and that ...
Although I have two DSS in failover, it's not possible to resize a volume without interuption, because I have to shutdown the replication task :(
With a 2-node DSS there should be NEVER ever a downtime!
just got caught off-guard when prompted to reboot after deleting an LV.
it would be nice if there is a document lists changes that require reboot.
