How to update without network or CD?

I have just purchased a StorMax network appliance with NAS-R3 installed. Unfortunately, no one on the selling side checked to see if the current version of NAS-R3 would actually recognize the NICs in the machine, so I cannot access the network or the GUI. In addition, the machine has no CD drive. I have downloaded a specially-prepared update that I am supposed to apply from the Open-E ftp site, but nowhere can I find directions on how I could possibly do this if 1) I have no network and not access to the GUI, and 2) I have no CD Drive. Can this be done off of a USB key?
