I grew and changed a raid set in Mega RAID Console 2. The Sites show the proper size but I cannot use the extra space since Free=0. Is there something I need to do get the VG to understand that it has grown and that more space is now available

Try with the PV Resize tool in the Extended tools from the Console Screen enter CTRL ALT X - system will reboot.

Yes a restart will be needed.

We wont be able to preserve your existing data as our volume manager will need to format it to be used as a new unit. Also you dont need to load any drivers once you set the HBA in the GUI in Setup > Fiber Channel to Initiator mode.

- do you mean LUN added/deleted will be recognised without restarting if DSS is attached to a san box.
Data will be preserved if DSS has this as its own volume, settings and config should be saved from the GUI in Maint. > Misc. and take all 4 options.
If you have added a FC volume using our FC Initiator then you see it in our Unit manager without a restart.
