Does S.M.A.R.T. need to be enabled in the console for DSS Lite to detect a drive failure? How come it is not enabled by default? Thanks!

Yes it does and we dont turn this on due tot he fact that over 90% of the DSS V6 full versions have the RAID controller support and SMART only works with out RAID controller. So many upgrade from the Lite version to the full version.
