Server completely locked up.

All.

History..Last week we enabled Jumbo Frames on our NAS .. 8GB bond.. We have approx 82 VMs running to this NAS. Last night the server completely locked up and I had no control or contact with the unit. I was unable to connect via network and the console was unresponsive on first touch. I did a hard restart and the unit came alive again.

Any ideas on what to check. I dont know what to look for in these logs either.

It could be a lot of things, so it is hard to be sure what cause this issue, but check that your RAID Controller is fine (check controller health by running an option for that from controller BIOS options), also check the RAM by running MEMTEST (first option when you reboot the system).

Check your logs for the files dmesg.2 and critical_errors.log. if they contain any issue that could lead you why this hang happened.

Check your network devices such as NIC cards, cables, switch, router, etc.

Also check your DOM, try to use Windows O.S. to check the DOM File System health.
