Redundant HBA's
Hi, I am spec'ing out a system for a client to run open-e on. There will be somewhere between 16 and 24 drives in it. Using other software raid solutions before, I would set up 2 or more hba's and essentially "mirror" them (raid 10) so if one hba goes down its still running. I am wondering what would be the best way (i.e. highest IOPS) to do this in open-e.
One option would be to create a raid 0 on each hba and then do a software mirror on them. Not sure of the performance on this....
Other option is if there are HBA's that can somehow sync together to create a larger raid10 together?
I am also open to other ideas of course. Thanks

failover in one box.... active/active
we dont support this just yet, but look closer to the end of the year. ;)

Thanks for the heads up on the new feature!!
But you dont think the first option I listed would work? Or just very slow?
Is your software raid solution even with a high end cpu and lots of memory that much slower than a good raid card in your tests?
