Hello,
Ok we got our setup today...
The array, has cache vault enabled, but open-e says no BBU available and says it disables write-back. Cache vault however is the BBU option on this card.
Also we installed the open-e software on the RAID50 array and it boots fine, but when we open the volume manager it says "No units found"
We are trying now to create a 2GB partition and install it on there. Any comments that may help?
Regards,
I started the server with knoppix, a 2GB partition is created with FAT32.... I feel the driver is not recognizing the array, please advice..
Regards,
The server sees this as the LSI 9271-4i :
RAID/SCSI controllers
Intel Corporation Patsburg 4-Port SATA Storage Control Unit (rev 06)
LSI Logic / Symbios Logic MegaRAID SAS 2208 [Thunderbolt] (rev 05)
We create the 2GB partition on install, but in order to use the rest for data, you need to create 2 logical Units on the RAID yourself first.
1- 2GB for the OS
2- The balance left over for data.
As for the BBU info, just use the option of writeback even with out BBU.
This can help:
