SMB connection fails on Win2000

Using the NAS in combination with an external LDAP wich is located on a OS X 10.3.8 server, works well for connections on a Macintosh. Both via SMB or appletalk. On a Win2000 machine we can see the shares but we cannot connect to them. (error: user unknown or wrong password)
