NFS for Vmware 4.1

Hi All i've been banging my head against a wall for weeks(off and on) now on this i cannot get my ESX4.1 servers to mount a NFS share from open-e v6

anybody got this working if so please tell me how.

any help would be great, i've tried with and without root squash, prepending the path in ESX with recommendations i can find on the web, i've even built brand new ESX server and dss6 box to ensure its nothing to do with config and it doesn't work there either

Maybe this can help:
1- if there is a switch between them, disable any 'auto dos' features
2- path is: IP/share-name
