FTP Server problems
I've been trying to setup an ftp server in open-e dss and have been having problems. I enabled the ftp server and then enabled it on a specific nas share. The share user is able to log in but can't create any files (gets message "permission denied"). A more disturbing "FEATURE" is that I can use any password for the user and not just the one that is set. Is this ftp server anonymous only? If so, why? Please advise.

That's strange... Did you choose "Users with password" instead of "Anonymous mode"? Also, there should be a checkbox called "Read only" in the share FTP menu. Maybe you have this checked?

Yes I did, and strangely when I did it with a different share it worked fine. Kind of disconcerting that the software is so buggy.

FTP Server problems
Is it the DSS Lite version or the DSS Full version you are having problems with?

Full version. And oddly enough a different user didn't have the same problem. So there is obviously some kind of bug.
