Yes, I'm testing - first impression: nice GUI ... more at end of june ... (holidays ;) )
Has anyone already tested SCSI-3 / Win 2008 Clustering?
where can i get this beta?
rogerk - check your forum inbox.
Hi Todd,
can i get also access to this beta?
Are there any release notes?
cheers
Matthias
Check your forum email - release notes are coming soon - please wait, though i have talked about some of the features on the forum in many areas. Please provide tests results for all of us.
Hello,
we have been waiting for this feature for ages (as many other people in this forum): is this feature in this beta ?
Thank you
Not in this beta release as alot of work was focused on getting this done first. We have over 200+ requests for features to be put in place and not enough time to do it for this first release. We will know more once this is released on our current ETA of 50% of the requests.
I have a problem using the Open-E v6 with hp sas p400 controller, it does not find any volumes, the volumes was created with 3518.
Is this a known issue ?
The logs are here:

Hi,
can anybody give a little rundown on what is new in v6? I haven't heard of a new beta since I saw this thread.
Cheers,
budy
More will be added later - we will provide full list near the end of the month on our product page. But here is a start:
• Installable on any media: internal HDD, RAID Array, USB, SATA and IDE DOM, or any other bootable media
• Enhanced Graphical User Interface
• NDMP v. 4
• Symantec Backup Exec backup agent (RALUS) to support versions 11, 12 and 12.5
• Basic API Configuration
• Asynchronous Volume Replication over WAN (pair to pair)
• Improved random performance of iSCSI
• Windows Server 2008 Clustering Support (persistent reservation SCSI-3)
How does the API work?
I will email them to you as we are not finished with the notes as we need more time to work on them before releasing the final version. To many emails now :)
Please let us check & test SPC3.
Best
Now open for all that ready to test. Please provide results.

Will iSCSI volumes be able to be backed up, or just NAS volumes (ie. as a standard file level backup)?Quote:

I suspect not, but a nice option would be to backup entire iSCSI volume, with the agent automatically using DSS/Linux snapshot functionality in the background.
Cheers.
Just the NAS volumes, iSCSI is scheduled later this year or first part of next.
I think that feature (up to date BE agent + iSCSI volume/LUN) will be good!
Thanks
