Hi all,
one of our DSS Server crashes and we get a new one (Hardware) direct from open-e. The version of the new DSS Modul is: 5.0.DB39000000.2956 :confused: :confused: But on the update site the newest Version is 1.37 build 2922 !
What is that for a version ??????????

All new USB modules are shipped with the latest version of DSS which is version 5.0 build2956. DSS 1.37 build 2922 is an older version. Version 5.0 will be posted before next week.

I want an update for my other DSS Server (that all server has the same version) but in the Software Updates download section i miss this version. Where can i find it ?

Why has the version changed from 1.x to 5.x? What are some of the new features in the new release?
5.0 is not officially released (should be next week) and the release notes are not yet completed. We made this change for many reason, the main reason was to keep all the products in the same version releases.
When do you think to release the 5.0?
The 'next week' is already two weeks ago :-)
I know but we do not want to release until all the issues are resolved. It might be next week.

Hi, when I try to upgrade to 5.00 from DSS web interface, I got the following error message after clicking the "Übernehmen" button:
"Fehler
Das Update konnte nicht entpackt werden."
What's the problem?
Try to update with cdrom option. Verify ISO with the md5 file with your cd rom burning software.
Hmmm, yes ok. But why do I get the error message? The update from 1.32 to 1.37 worked fine for me from the web interface. Now, It doesn't work.
What's the issue there?
This error is stating from translation that the "update could be unpacked". Try again try with the cd and if you are still not able to perfom the update send the log file to support, so we can review this issue.
CONFIGURATION LOST after Update to 5.0!!!
Hi, after the manual update to 5.0 all the configuration of dss is lost. The Ip adress is reseted to 192.168.0.220, the password is also reseted to 'admin'. All other configurations are also lost. What wnet wrong. I'm 100% sure, that the option to take over the old configuration was set before rebooting the system.
Any chance to recover the old settings?
OK, everything works fine again :-)
Only the IP Adress, password and the server name were changed. Also some other settings like shares were not restored completely. After updating the system manually to the SETUP and CONFIGURATIONS saved before by the backup functionality everythings is back again.
Why is the updating the system always such a big surprise....
