Why limit iSCSI MPIO throughtput to 1G?

In the guide [Open-E_DSS_V6_MPIO_with_ESX4i_4.1.pdf], it instructs that we need to configure Round Robin MPIO to 1 iops using this command: esxcli nmp roundrobin setconfig --type "iops" --iops 1 --device <device UID>

What is the reason for doing this?

Original Setting:
Path Selection Policy Device Config: {policy=rr,iops=1000,bytes=10485760,useANO=0;lastP athIndex=3: NumIOsPending=0,numBytesPending=0}

After executing the suggested command:
Path Selection Policy Device Config: {policy=iops,iops=1,bytes=10485760,useANO=0;lastPa thIndex=4: NumIOsPending=0,numBytesPending=0}

It is for performance reasons, VMware has more documentation on this topic as this is what they recommended.
