Snapshot to span mutltiple days

Hi,

I am trying to figure out if it's possible to have the follwoing snapshots:

- a daily snapshot which's schedule is set to: mo thru fri, start time 03:00 no end time
- a weekend/backup snapshot which's schedule is: start time sat 03:00, end time should be sun 23:59

So what I basically trying to do is: have a renewing snapshot each night at 3am and have a snapshot that lasts from sat 03:00 to sun 23:59, where the snapshot is being backed upo to tape.

I seem to cannot set this up using the controls in the GUI, because I can omit the end time for a snapshot, but I can't omit the start time for a snapshot, can I?

Hi Budy

You cannot have no start time for the snapshot
You can leave the end time blank

In order to backup the Snapshot you will need to do this on your Host system.
We do not have a backup function for iSCSI.

Hi To-L,

I didn't intend to do the backup on the Open-E box itself, so of course the iSCSI snapshot has to be mounted on a host to do this, but I will need more than 24 hours backup the entire snapshot. So I would need the snapshot to last for longer than 24 hours.

And I wanted to have this one automatically scheduledm of course. ;)
Maybe I didn't made that clear enough.
