SSD Raid levels and active active?

I want to hear others thoughts on using enterprise SSD in a hardware raid and what levels vs just using 2 storage servers in an active-active configuration? Cost is an issue here so that is why I had considered not putting an ssd in a raid but to have it mirrored in another storage server with active-active.

Hi Derek,

I think if you want to cut the costs and use mixed SSD/HDD configuration, best would be to assign SSD drives as extended cache for the controller.
Personally I tested LSI CacheCade Pro 2.0 with Open-E and I have to say - I was quite happy with the results.
