Flancer,
Open-E has IPSec built into it. If you go to the Setup, Network tab, you'll find the IPSec function, where you can set the sytem to use IPSec, and set an individual IP address for...
Noopykat,
Which RAID controller are you using? Did you make sure it's supported in Open-E's website?

Hello Rool_Ra,
You won't be able to upgrade your NAS Enterprise. You can only upgrade a NAS-XSR Enterprise because of a difference in Volume Managers. And you are at the top of the list on your...
You can easily transition from DSS Lite to a 4TB DSS DOM. Just make sure you save your configuration settings ahead of time to a separate location.
Check the download box on the Maintenance,...
Manu,
For snapshot size, they generally should be about 3 times the size of your changes (differences). As an example, if you had 50GB in changes during the selected time period, your snapshot...
Masim, you are correct. Right now there is no support for Linux systems for persistent reservation on Win 2008. Since Open-E is Linux-based, the feature will be unavailable.
CK,
I think the best way to get what you need is to go the console tools (Ctl - Alt - X), and Restore the Factory Configuration settings. That will reset everything for you.

You might want to check your logs to see if you have any errors that appear to relate to this issue. You can go to the GUI on the Status, Hardware Tab, to download your log files. Save...
Hi Paul. ...hope you had a good weekend.
We've used the scenario I described in our backup process, but there's no provision to do a backup directly using iSCSI. What you do is a backup from the...

There are many enclosures that work with the Areca. You can contact them with your question and they will send you a list of boxes approved for their systems.
Here's a link for you....
Borsaid,
...just go to the Areca website. You should be able to find what you're looking for there.

We use the Areca expander in our system. But, what you can do is check with Areca to see what other expanders they support. In our experience they typically support most of the...
Hi Borsaid.
You can use an Areca 1680 RAID controller; just use the external port to expand out of your 2U system. This configuration works quite well.

Trading-Man,
No, that's not possible.

You know, I had the same issue recently. I asked the same question you did; I needed more space. The response was that they don't offer any size upgrades on DSS Lite right now. So, to save time...
Cvolkmer,
Go to your NIC and try changing the Link Speed and Duplex settings to Auto-negotiate 1000. The issue is somehow with the NIC, or it is a driver. If you google this error on the...
