does DSS support active/passive servers with failover IP so that iscsi clients connection remain unbroken during failover?
after checking with vendor, the device could connect to server via SAS cable. the server must have SAS controller card such as IBM 44E8700.
do you think DSS will support?
i will connect qlogic fibre channel adapter to the SAN device. the vendor replied that the qlogic driver is enough to recognise the LUNs.
do you think DSS will support?
i want to use this as direct attached storage to DSS (pls ignore the sw features). i could create 10G iscsi storage server with replication inexpensively. proprietary san servers with these features...
i want to connect this product to DSS via FC
http://www.huaweisymantec.com/en/Product___Solution/Products/Storage/SAN/Low-End_SAN/S2600/
do you think the FC initiator will support?
- if we reinstall DSS, will previous data be preserved?
- do you mean LUN added/deleted will be recognised without restarting if DSS is attached to a san box.
1. according to this url:
http://serverfault.com/questions/54224/fibre-channel-lun-rescan-and-qlogic
new LUN will not be recognised for qlogic driver unless reloading driver except special driver...
if DSS is connected to external RAID via FC, a LUN is enlarged, could DSS recognise it without rebooting?
i would like to setup the following:
raid controller A: raid1 -> /dev/sda
raid controller B: raid1 -> /dev/sdb
use open-e to form a raid1 over sda and sdb.
do you think this will be...
is the storage systems attached to active and passive servers via FC must be identical? eg. one is SAS, another is SATA or SSD.
