Think i have located the problem. The problem was located to the Areca 1261ML controller and/or the memory ( 2 GB ) on the Areca controller.

Tested this by making a software raid directly...

I hope you will have more speed than i get. Have an Areca 1261ML with 5*1000 GB in Raid 5. Writespeed is 7-8 MB/s (in the best periods) :mad:
