What are you getting in ifconfig for the NIC's , are you dropping any packets?

have you tried to add ou=Users in the advanced feature of the external LDAP ?

The pop up wil appear if you are in block I/O when creating a new ISCSI volume in the DSS web interface

Yes this still holds true, If you create an ISCSI volume in block I/O, a pop up window will advise you to switch to file I/O if using the volume with VMware.

You will need to have file I/O to work with Vmware and when creating the luns vmware does not like lun0 so use lun 1 or 2

try reflashing the DOM, with a software update
you can access the data by downloading a demo cd to boot the system

Was your thumb drive formatted to fat 32
I would try reinstalling dss lite on to the thumb drive

If I understand you correctely:
VTL is used for local backup.
You can setup a schedule for the backup tasks at the customer site
may want to do an incremental backup every 24 hours

Check the health of your raid controller and verify raid health.

May want to change to file I/O and check it out

have you setup email notification?

Did you add users and groups to the share?
Can you connect to it from a microsoft OS box with the Ip address ?
Map Network drive \\ipaddress\share name

If you are using a proxy it will not work.
check to see if you can ping the server from beyond the firewall.
Check to see if your firewall is blocking dss lite.
You will need port 10444 open.

If you are trying to get pages to load faster, there is a plugin to make firefox run faster.

You can also check it test.log look for hdparm -t /dev/sdb to check you speed

From the console try resetting the nic to the defaults. check that the time settings are correct

On the Server connected directly to UPS via COM/USB port:
1. On WebGUI go to Setup->Hardware->UPS settings function,
2. Set "UPS vendor" to APC,
3....

Can you tell us more about the machine, CPU, memory, OS.
Open-e software version?
What were you doing when it crashed?

Do you have open-e software on USB DOM or CD ?
You will need to set in bios to boot from correct device.
The open-e software will want to format you disk drive.
