Update Error

Hi,

when trying to update the software for NAS-XSR SMB via the 'Update downloader' the following error message appears after klicking on the apply-button: 'Update uncompress error'.
Nothing else happen.

What's wrong?

Verify the file size from the website. Try updating with CD-ROM again.

I had this same problem. Then I downloaded the ISO update image, attached a CD-ROM Drive to the NAS, used NERO to burn the ISO image.

When the NAS system boots from the CD it says it can determine the sector size and it is assuming 0800. Then after a while updateing starts but ends before it should.

When I try to start from the NAS it tells me it doesn't have enough memory.

Is there some way to reset it ?

You can use the previous version by re-installing it. When updating from cd please verify the file size that you have downloaded. We receive this allot and usually find problems with this or the CD-ROM is the case. Sometimes turning off the system completely helps before update from CD – it clears out any memory on the system most do it for 20sec.

I had to use a different PC to restore the image, but this works. Thanks for helping me out during the weekend!
