    Default System Volume is missing

    Hello,

I have an DSS Version 5.0.DB44000000.3025.
After deleting the existing Raid6 and creating a new Raid5, I reboot the System.
Till this I get the Message: "No system volume found! System services can't work
    without system volume !"

In the Web-GUI the "old" Volumes where still available, when I have delete the Raid-Sets
    on the Controller.

How can I create a System Volume, or better how can I reset the whole configuration.

    Regards Heiko

You can restore your system volume from select default volume group in the console tools.

If you want to remove the Volume Groups then go to Console and enter CTRL + ALT + X then select Delete content of units. But if you want to remove the Logical Volume then you can do this from the GUI just make sure that there are no running tasks associated with the Logical volume. This is if you have no data on the Volume Group and you wish to remove this permanently.
    All the best,

hi Todd Maxwell, please can you please specify in a little more detail the exact motions of doing this via the web interface?

From the GUI you can not remove Volume Groups (VG0x) only Logical Volumes and if the Logical Volumes have running task then you will have to remove them i.e. Snapshot is running or iSCSI Target is in use.

    Dear Alex1,

You can remove LV from the GUI. If you go to Configuration->Volume Manager->[VG name] then click on the red "X" next to the volume. If this is inactive, you can delete the LV from system console "CTRL+ALT+X" "Delete LV". From the same menue, you can 'delete content of unit" which will delte the VG.

Then, from the system GUI do a rescan, and then you should see your Array "Unit".

Have you rebooted in 32bit mode after running in 64 bit mode?
