That's not an option because we use that software for other systems as well. I eventually turned off the agent on the dss server for the restore and restored to the share itself. It adds a couple directory levels but that's easy enough to move.
I know your feeling. I did fail int he same mistake, not checking whats supported what is not. I am glad you found a work around. Its not as good as the real solution, but if you cant downgrade then it should work.
