    Question upload speed slow

    Good day.
    We are have problem
    Server in NAS mode.
    Client connect to server without switch, We are use gigabit crossover
    when we copy file from client to sever lan speed - 60 megabytes per sec
    if copy file from Server to client - lan speed - 6 mb/s - it's bad

    What RAID controller and RAID level are you using,
    did you turn on cache and enable write back on the controller.
    What version software are you using?
    With Gigabit Ethernet you do not need a crossover cable, can you try a straight cable. (cat 6)

    raid level 5
    wb on
    I use cat 6

    if I mount network folder as drive - I get 6 mb/s upload/download
    IF I go to server via explorer (\\IP) - I get 60 mb/s upload/download
    IF I go to server via explorer (\\name) - I get 6 mb/s upload/download

    it's very stange

    It sounds like you have a DNS/Network problem with the remote PC, since the DSS server would know nothing of your use of Hostname vs. IP address -- all the traffic to DSS is delivered using IP address references only.
