See, I've got this problem that I get kicked off the Open-E NAS share server 30 seconds after I enter my administrator username and password. Then I have to write it again to connect to the server. I've tried using Open-E on two different servers, but without luck.
My authentication method is Windows (ADS) with domain and DNS server.
I also use NFS and HTTP Share Browser, but I can always connect to the HTTP Share Browser and view directories and files, but not via the \\[IP] method.
The firewall is set to allow connections between the Open-E server.
This could be a couple of things:
check to see if there are any errors
(Red exclamation next to status in the bottom left corner of the GUI)
Click on the Exclamation to see the errors
Check the time difference between the Open-e server and the ADS server.
Try to create a new certificate From the console CTRL-ALT-T then Time configuration.
Let me know how you make out.
Here is the status:
1. I checked Open-E for errors: No errors at all.
2. I did log in to the ADS/DNS server through remote desktop: The time and date was correct.
3. I've made a new certificate.
- And I still get kicked off the NAS server.
BUT... one of my colleagues noticed that the domain-server's date and time maybe were incorrect.
I'll check it later and let you know if that caused the problem.
The Time difference between the Open-e Server and your ADS server needs to be less than 5 minutes.
If your ADS server is off by more than 5 minutes, this could be your problem
No, there's no time difference between the ADS and the Open-E server. It's fully synchronized, and still I get kicked. I even tried to add the Open-E server in the DNS database, but no luck.
You been kicked from the NAS GUI? Did you try to use different browsers on different machines?
If you have access to it from different can you try it? As there may be a authentication issue in your network that disabling the connection with he NAS server.
No, I mean after I enter the Administrator username and password in the GUI, I can connect through \\[IP] and see folders (NFS) in Windows Explorer. Then it disconnects after 30 seconds, and I have to write the login-info again in the GUI.
The weird thing is that my boss sat up another Open-E server the other day, with iSCSI and NAS, and it's working perfectly. And the 2 servers has the same settings (but not the same brand and hardware), except that working server runs on the 10.0.4.* net, and "my" server runs on the 10.0.1.* net. My desktop PC I connect from is on the 10.0.4.* net. But it shouldn't be the issue?
