    Dear Jens,

Part I: Yes you can run a Data replication procedure (rsync) into an internal or external Logical volume. (Maintenance->Backup->Data Replication)

For PartII can you e-mail the logs(Status->Hardware) to support@open-e.com and mention your posts here.

    Regards,
    SJ

I need some help with this, as I couldn't figure it out yet . Maybe because I need to replicate *from* an external rsync server?

My source is a remote rsync server (not DSS) (rsync.opensuse.org::/opensuse-full), my destination would be a directory on a local share (NAS resource name is "SuSErepos", replication destination would have to be the "opensuse" subdirectory on that resource - of course I could create a new share for the subdir, if needed).

When I create a replication task on the DSS, it looks to me like "source" has to be a local share. I have no way of specifying the remote (source) host's DNS name nor IP address.

How would I have to specify the task parameters?

    With regards,

    Jens

    Dear jmo,

It seems we were not in the same page.
You can't replicate between 2 servers that do not run Open-E software. Both of them need to be Open-E.

    Regards,
    SJ
