What do you mean by "offline" - I'm irritated you want to make it online in the DSS, this is typically done at the initiator.Originally Posted by linux-storage
What OS does your initiator use? And are the tools you use up-to-date? Looking at the quoted output, a "QLE220" adapter is referenced - not the QLE2460.
We've had the problem (and incidentially again this Friday, though it is said to be fixed with the latest version of DSS) that the initiator gets to see no resources, if the DSS is rebooted while the initiator is online. Could this be the case here, too? The work-around is to either fully shut down the initiator (iirc, it had to be powered off so the FC card was offline) or to simply unplug the FC connection of the DSS during DSS reboot.
Another problem could be that you used a FC other than default, but have not added a WWPN to that group. Only the default group is open to any FC client.
If you just need to get the LUNs only at the initiator but cannot reboot the machine, there's a tool (for Linux OS) from QLogic to get newly detected FC LUNs online (ql-lun-state-online.sh).
With regards,
Jens
