    Are you saying that "Yes, you can only upgrade iSCSI-R3 to a 16TB version of DSS" or are you saying "It is the same part number to upgrade an 8TB iSCSI to a 8TB DSS as it would be for a 16TB iSCSI to a 16TB DSS and you need to contact your distributor to find out what the pricing for the 8TB upgrade would be"

    I ask because I have contacted distributors and they don't seem to understand any better than I.

    If you upgrade your 8TB iSCSI-R3 to DSS then your new DSS will retain the same value and would present itself as DSS 8TB.

    That is why this part number is correct regardless if it is 4TB or 8TB iSCSI-R3. This part number is only for upgrading to the DSS version not capacity size.
