PowerEdge 2900 III with perc 6/i Controller

Do anyone have try open-e DDS on a Dell PE 2900 III with perc 6/i Controller (SATA) Drive that work?
Is there any performance issue?

How is the performance of the linux driver for PERC6?
Do you recommend this Raid controller?

Does the PE 2900 lets you boot from a USB device? All of my PE 18xx doesn't do it.
If that should work, I think the PeRC 6 is old enough to be recognized by the Kernel Open-E uses.

Why don't you give it a shoot using one of the Demo-CDs?
