The Areca ARC-1261 is not supported on our HCL :

Please use this as a SATA controller and then use our SW RAID tool.

Sorry, no good answer! There is the ARC-1260 on the list (it's +/- the same like 1261 ...) and user "stardf" has the same error with ARC-1680 (on your HCL!) AND I used this controller with NO PROBS until "atlanta"! Our DSS is also a OEM system from an open-e partner, so I think the hardware is correct ...

I have asked the engineers about this issue and wanted you to send the logs to support@open-e.com

Also we are checking on the email issue as well. Can anyone else test this with the Areca to confirm this?
