we use iSCSI 3293 and DSS 3511 and want a replication from DSS as a source and iSCSI as target.
Support told me, that it is not possible to replicate from this 3293 iSCSI to DSS 3511. First I want to replicate the other way around and second I can not find any information on open-e website and manuals stating that replication isn't possible between iSCSI an DSS.
Is there any other way to use replication between my two machines besides upgrading iSCSI to DSS and spending another 600 euros. Perhaps can we downgrade our DSS to a lower build number?
Sven - Yes this is correct that you cannot replicate the DSS build 3511 to iSCSI-R3 Enterprise. In the release notes we state that you cannot go back to the previous version, if you need this previous version please inform support that you will need to RMA the DSS module and have them send you a new module with previous version to replicate to the iSCSI-R3.
RMA is not really an alternative, because the stick is already in pre-production environment, we cannot wait, until a new stick arrives. When will there a new compatible release for iSCSI available?
We don’t have a set date for the update for iSCSI but we could send you the USB DOM with version 3278 then replace and send back the original this would then only take a few min.
Then once everything is working send back the USB DOM.
