    Default lost iSCSI connection

    Hi,

can anyone plse help me with the following:

    I've created a failover SAN (SAN-01 & SAN-02), with SAN-01 active.
    An iSCSI-connection is made from a W2K3-server.
For testing purposes I've turned off SAN-01, everything worked fine, also after the synchro from SAN-02 to SAN-01 and making SAN-01 primary again.

The next test was turning off SAN-02.
    SAN-01 stayed the primary node.
On my W2K3 server the iSCSI-connection went degraded to inactive.
After reactivation through disk-management all was fine again.

Is there an explination for this?

    regards,
    Martin

Was this using the Virtual IP address and was the Virtual IP address on a different subnet then the Replication and the other assigned IP Addresses from the NIC's?
    All the best,

    Hi,

This was connecting to the virtual IP-address.
The 2nd NIC is on a different subnet:
    Eth1 x.248.x.x/252
    Eth0 192.168.0.x/255

    Virtual IP: x.248.x.x

    regards,
    Martin
