Default 3511 - Boot Problem after switch to 32Bit

    Hi all!

    I have the following Problem:
Since 3511, the 64Bit kernel is booted as default. If I change the default boot architecture in console tools to 32Bit almost all boot parameters are gone and the system won't come up again. It stops at searching for a livecd.sgn file.

Could this be a bug in the console tools?

    regards

Something does not seem correct in this process as once you save the settings you must reboot and you are in proper architecture. Send in logs to support@open-e.com and engineers will look into it.
    All the best,

Was there a simple fix for this?
It just happened to me with 3518 and 2 USB devices (a SATA DoM & a USB meme-stick).
Then tried v6 update4 & that was fine.

Only possible factor was that we booted into the default 64bit mode & changed boot architecture to 32bit. Maybe if we booted to 32bit (ie. manually selecting it), then changing it to 32bit may havew been different, but who knows! Cheers.

    No, sorry.
We changed our systems to 64-Bit.
I think the boot problem when changing architecture is still there.

    cheers

How did you end up moving all your existing (32-bit) volumes across?
I am trying to think of the easiest/fastest way, maybe via using DSS Tape Backup to another storage device (SAS or iSCSI), but I was not sure if a 32-bit volume backup was 100% ok with being restored to a new 64-bit volume. Cheers.
