Default Does DSS sport a tftp service?

    Hi,

I am about to set up some diskless Linux clients, that I want to boot via PXE. I'd like to host the boot image on my DSS as well, but I'd need a tftp server for that.

As I couldn't find such a service in the Web-UI I am wondering if it's possible to configure and run a tftp service on DSS (Atlanta 3513).

    Cheers,

Sorry to say that this is not on our list of projects, though you can do a remote boots from iSCSI. I think Intel NIC's provide a firmeware update for this. See link below for more information and though it shows for pro100 i am sure it is for the pro1000's as well.

    Hi Todd,

not the answer I hoped for, but thanks anyway - I will take a look at the document. Although I wanted to use this with my Parallels VMs and the virtualized NICs are not the Intel pro ones.

I wish we had it for you but we dont have this feature and nothing I can do to give this to you now. We need more time.

Never mind. I will solve it some other way. If DSS eventually gets tftp service, I can then re-arrange my setup again.
