Default No multiple iSCSI connections with ESX3.5?

    Hi all...
Today I setup the DSS Lite stuff, created a new volume group, a new iSCSI volume and added 3 Test-ESX Servers with the default IQN.
I started to assing the defined iSCSI-Volume to ESX1. Fine.
Then tried to continue with ESX2, but there was an info that there were no iSCSI volumes found. Is this a bug or a feature? I heard that using DSS-Lite with VMWare ESX supposed to be no problem...?!? What did I do wrong?
    Can someone help?
    Thx in advance...
    Pat

Try to set the LUNs with LUN 1 for Target 0 and LUN 1 for Target 2 and so forth.
    All the best,

Hi...thx for the quick answer. I only have one LUN (0) created, on which all 3 ESX should have r/w access to.
    Do you have another tip?
    Cheers, Patrik

Try creating more to test and connect. We don't support multiple initiators connecting to one target unless you are using VMware's HA.

    Hi Patrik

Vmware requires unique LUN numbers within and across iscsi targets.
It also does not like Lun 0 so rename your Lun starting with 1

iSCSI is block level and if you have more than one connection to a LUN the changes made by one user will not be seen by another user.

I would test with 3 or 4 Luns (named Lun 1,2,3 and Lun 4) this should work for you

    Have fun
