Thread: Fibre channel - high availability?

Default Fibre channel - high availability?

    Hello

Does anyone know if it is possible to do high availability (a volume replicated across two physical servers) using the fibre channel target?

I've done some testing with version 5 of Open-E DSS with fibre on a single server as the target. Works fine but we need to do a failover solution.

If this is not possible with version 5, can version 6 do it?

    Thanks

We don't have the Auto Failover for FC volumes but you can do the manual failover, also for NAS and iSCSI volumes.

See link below for more details and though it talks about iSCSI for the setup this can be for FC as well.

    Hi Todd,

I know there is auto-failover for ISCSI, and you guys are forking on making it possible for NAS, is FC auto-failover somewhere on the roadmap too?

    Thanks...
