Thread: 32bit boot of DSS v6 light

Default 32bit boot of DSS v6 light

I've installed DSS v.6 light on one of my servers.
This server not support 64bit Soft
By default boot DSS as 64bit.
I can manually choose 32 bit version
But if I try to set 32bit boot permanently, after start I don't see
Boot option in Ctrl+Alt+T Menu to change boot optin.

Only editing of DSS can change it...

Ctrl+Alt+T is the right way to change the boot option, but after changing to 32bit, did you saved your settings ?

    Default Automatic boot to 32Bit

    I“ve exactly the same problem.
When pressing Ctrl+Alt+T there is no option to change boot settings in 32Bit mode.
On another machine running 64Bit mode the menue entry to change bott settings is present.
Seems that this menue is missing in 32Bit mode

I'm running version 6.0up04.8401.3530. I've boot it in both 32 and 64 bit mode and neither one shows boot options when in CTRL+ALT+T.

    Good Luck.

Confirmed. We need access to LSI MegaRaid agent but apprently it only runs in 32-bit mode, but how does one set if there is no menu item to allow it? Cheers.

Guys, this statement from the expert should explain things:
DSS Lite has only 64bit mode, part of the free version specs.

guys, absolutely no problem! Just install the lite-version with the built-in 60-day-key. Change via C-A-T the boot-version to 32-bit.

Then paste *your* lite-key in the webgui and restart the system. Voilą. :-)

Sounds very simple, but what do you do if you already have a running config in place? This seems like a pretty serious bug to me. still happening as of:

    6.0up11.xxxx.3802 2009-11-05 b3802

Hi, I have the same problem, can you tell me if reinstalling the old license (complete trial) for can change the boot options to 32 bits and after reinstalling the license free lite the configuration is lost?

    Default yes it“s possible!

the only way to boot in 32bit mode is to edit the Kernel.cfg File
move the "MENU DEFAULT" Entry from 64bit to 32bit passage
