Default NAS Volume Snapshot Replication not deleting files

    Hi there,

I have a NAS Volume which I am using for data replication to an offsite SAN. I set it up so that a snapshot is taken of the source volume which then uses a replication task to replicate to an identical sized (1TB) volume on the destination.

This has been working perfectly for some time however, i noticed the other day that the amount of used space on the destination volume had grown approx. 100gig larger than the source volume. After a bit of digging i found that if you delete a file from the source it does not delete it from the destination volume (once the snapshot and replication has occurred).

I have checked that the "Don't delete files" option box is unticked (no) on the data replication task.

    Am i missing something here?

The Snapshot or Data Replication doesn't delete or remove files from the Source, only Destination.

If the option to delete files is not selected for the Destination but this does not affect the Source.

Also have a look for this forum post, it will give you more details:

    Thanks.
