Default Feature request: server statistics for bonding interfaces

    Hi!

The "status -> hardware -> server statistics -> network" feature is very nice and useful.

Would it be possible to show the statistics for bonding devices in addition (instead of the split-up raw ethernet devices only)?

We use two DSS 5.0up62.7102.3518 64bit 8TB here (bought one week before the DSS6 release week). I think this is the newest DSS5 version already.

    Best regards,

I will send this request to developers and see if this can be added in some future releases. I wont be able to give you an ETA as we receive 100's requests for new ideas and concepts to make the product better every time. I do agree with you that we should have this and makes sense for the bonds.
    All the best,

Default SNMP: alternative to internal server statistics

    Hi Todd!

    Thanks for your answer.

For other users looking for this feature:
One can easily extract the bond interface statistics with SNMP. We did so with cacti and SNMP v2. Only standard templates are necessary:

Associated Data Query: SNMP - Interface Statistics
Associated Graph Templates: Interface - Errors/Discards, Interface - Traffic (bytes/sec, Total Bandwidth), etc.

Memory usage and load averages are also accessible. So far, I was not able to extract file space usage values.

    Best regards,

Yes you are correct on this as well.

What we do have though in the mean time is from the GUI (only for NAS volumes as the block volumes are owned by the hosts) in
STATUS -> logical volume -> Function: Logical volume statistics then click on the volume on the left side of the screen.
    All the best,

Just FYI: the bond statistics are available in version 6. We have six physical interfaces with three bonds, and the graph page goes like this:

    Bond0
    Bond1
    Bond2

    Eth0
    Eth1
    Eth2
    Eth3
    Eth4
    Eth5

You have to remember which interfaces go with which bonds, but the information is all there. Actually it makes for quite a long page to scroll through with that many graphs
