    Default USB DOM Question

I have heard from others that the USB DOM that Open-E uses for their product does not support wear leveling and people have had corruptions requiring a new DOM or USB stick to be used.

Rather than doing that, can I just buy a DOM and copy the DSS software on it and deploy it that way?

I have found a DOM that has static wear leveling and is highly rated: http://www.coresolid-storage.com/pro...=203&PROID=319

    Would this work?

    Thanks!

That looks like the old DOM that they used in the past.
in one of the releases last year, the OS was to do less writing to the dom
    (check release notes)

a buddy of mines (hack) tried to copy the software to the another USB drive and he never got it to work.

let us know if it works for you

Well I was thinking about just downloading the latest version from the website, copying to the DOM, running the bootinst.exe to format it properly and then throw it in the server, load the configs, license it and be done with it.

Not really copy from one dom to another. The boot config application needs to run at some point to make it bootable.
