Thread: Support for Two Cluster Capable RAID Adapters?

Default Support for Two Cluster Capable RAID Adapters?

Can DSS be configured to support two cluster-capable adaptec raid adapters for redundancy purposes? I'm connecting my DSS server to a legacy P SCSI enclosure with redundant EMMs and as such could support each adapter with thier own SCSI ID and implement a failover scenario at the EMM or the SCSI adapter. If DSS could support this configuration then I could run two adapeters against the enclosure's two EMMs. DSS sees each adapter individually when two are installed in the machine and so I can't figure out how to support this redundant configuration. Any ideas?

What you are describing is redundant **internal/host** RAID adapter functionality

There are some external RAID controllers which support redundancy (which work as you describe in the external storage chassis).

But in my review of SAS/SATA RAID solutions and have not yet come across a redundant internal controller solution.
