    Exclamation troubles with USB DOM

    Hi!

One of our systems has sometimes troubles to boot from DOM. In BIOS the USB DOM disappears sometimes (after full shutdown/power down). I must power up the system several times und than the DOM appears in BIOS boot menue and the server boots up without troubles ...

Could this be a problem with the DOM itself? Should I replace it? How to replaye it (reseller or open-e)?
    regards,
    Lukas

Try updating the dom by cd, with either the latest version or the version that you currently have

    Question

I've got a new DOM from reseller and now the question: How to move my current DSS v6 license key (Serial) to new DOM? How to (re-)activate it? Is there a hard-coded serial on each DOM? Or can I setup new DSS version from USB/CD and then enter my old key?
    regards,
    Lukas

save you config (I usually choose both options)

    then power down
    replace dom
    after it reboots
    load the config

If you updated the storage capacity that is hardcoded to the DOM
you'll need to contact open-e to get the upgraded capacity back

    Thumbs up

    Everything done ! Here my how-to ...

    1. Replace old DOM with new one
    2. Boot e.g. via USB-stick with newest build
    3. Run software installer
    4. Enter old (registered) product key
    5. Reboot from new DOM with new software
    6. Restore old/saved config/setup
    7. Reboot
    8. online reactivation
    9. everything happy running!
